In this part of the CEFTA Web Portal you will find the most important customs import/export procedures separately for each CEFTA Economy. Procedures include but are not limited to: 1.The location of customs clearance offices; 2.The working hours in each office; 3.The procedures to follow based on the destination of your goods; 4.The documents to present to customs authorities for obtaining approval for the relevant destination; 5.The officially approved documents given to you by customs authorities in each case; 6.The procedures followed by customs authorities for calculating the customs value of your goods; 7.The definition of rules of origins determining customs preferential or non preferential tariffs; 8.The Free Trade Agreements signed by each CEFTA Economy with the other signatories. In cases where the final destination of goods is one of the CEFTA Economies, please refer to the import procedures section of this Economy on this portal. In cases where goods transit through different economies before arriving to their final destination, please refer to the transit procedures of these economies. If goods exit one of the CEFTA Economies included in this site, please refer to the export procedures for the relevant Economy.




  • Is there BiH mark that confirms the fulfilment of technical requirements and if it exist, how does it look like?

    Yes, the BiH “C” mark exists, which confirms the fulfilment of technical requirements for directives of new approach, respectively the adopted orders. Conditions and manners of placement of this mark on the products are explained in adopted orders and following annexes, and the mark looks as follows:

  • What producer needs to do in order to put the CE mark on its product?

    The producer needs to:

    1. 1. Read responding directive/s and check procedures for conformity assessment which is foreseen by the directive/s,
    2. 2. Obtain harmonized standards,
    3. 3. Be aware of the moment of the inclusion of Notified Body,
    4. 4. Assemble technical documentation (map, record), draft analysis and risk assessment, execute all test, assemble instruction for the use of the product,

  • What “conformity assessment” stands for?

    In the simplest manner, the “conformity assessment” means the review are the products, materials, services, systems or people in accordance with requirements of an adequate standard. For example, the customer will want to check is the product that he ordered from supplier adequate for the needed purpose. One of the most efficient manners to do that is when the specification of the products are defined in international standard. In that manner, both supplier and customer understand each other, even if they are located in different economies, because both are using the same references.

  • Are BiH (BAS) standards mandatory?

    BAS standards are voluntary except if their application is obligatory by some technical provision.

  • Who is adopting standards in Bosnia and Herzegovina?

    In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the BiH standards (BAS) are being adopted by Institute for standardization BiH. Via expert bodies, the Institute is adopting original BiH standards and it is introducing international and European standards.

  • Which subject in BiH is issuing CE mark certificate for export of the products to the EU?

    According to the Law on technical requirements for products and conformity assessment (OG BiH No. 45/04) Ministry of foreign trade and economic relations BiH is competent for nomination of institutions for conformity assessment. Until now, the Ministry did not nominate a single institution in BiH for the provisions that are classified as new approach, not even for the needs of market surveillance.

  • What CE mark stands for?

    The CE mark is acronym from „Conformite europeenne” (eng. European Conformity). This mark shows that the product meets all essential safety requirements, protection of health and life of people, protection of property, protection of environment and protection of public interest, that are being provided in the EU directives in so called “new approach”. The CE mark is confirming that the conformity assessment procedure was respected with appropriate, adequate directives.
